Cecilia Bravo-Mittmann:

Born in Quito-Ecuador in 1960. Currently residing in Illinois since 1992.

Mother of five children, gardener, and cook. Earns a living as a Loan Officer. She loves writing, and also writes to exorcise her life experiences

Cecilia loves the United States of America, her country, with an adopted child's feelings; admiration and gratitude. Nothing is taken for granted; the geography, the spirit of freedom, the ingenuity, and the endless possibilities.

But amidst the chaos –Kali Yuga times-. There is like never before, the possibility of us of imagining a better world. When the daily existence becomes overwhelming, when hope is lost, we turn to the world of dreams; it is there where she found the words for her poems.

With her son and her son in law in the battlefield, sharing the heavy hearts of thousand and thousands of American families, she wrote her way out of pain, word by word, in long late nights, sometimes with the help of a dictionary. Channeling the wounds of war.
